I remember 20 years ago with my firstborn, I had a scan at five weeks because I was bleeding. You could see the sac and my son was very small. So small the hospital thought that I had a blighted ovum and had scheduled me for a D&C. Two weeks later, I went for the procedure and the doc said he couldn't do it because I was pregnant. By that time, my son was very visable. So in other words, the baby is tiny at 5 weeks and sometimes can't be seen very well. I am now 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant and anxiously waiting for my 8 week scan in two and a half weeks. My ob/gyn won't even see patients before 8 weeks. Hang in there!
