Hi there! I have been TTC over 2 years now. Yes, it is draining! We are trying for number one. I got pregnant in Feb last year but miscarried at 10 weeks :( I have been seeing a fertility specialist since then and am on my 6th cycle with clmoid. currently 1dpo and in SOOO much pain. since starting on clomid ovulation has been very painful, but this is supposed to be 1dpo (according to my very clear temp rise this morning). Anyway we will see how the cycle progresses. Really hoping to get pregnant again soon! If we don't conceive in the next 3 cycles we will be eligible for IVF which scares me a bit.

How long did it take you to conceive your first two?

Hi Shelob ty for replying. I really hope it gets easier for you. I couldnt fathom 2 years of ttc. I would like to know more about clomid. Is it a tablet a shot? I was 21 and 23 when i conceived my boys whilst taking the sugar pills on my pill. The pill was not strong enough back then and i cobtinued taking them until i found out i was pregnant. Not sure what is going on but i want to know so tests and doctor trips here i go. Im ovulating my periods are regulating so maybe more bding.

Wow two babies which "on the pill"!!! that must have been a shock.

Clomid is an ovulation inducer so if you are ovulating regularly you don't need it. I have to take tablets in the first week of my cycle. My cycles are normally very random and I can ovulate anywhere from CD9 to CD31 (since I started charting) so I take clmid which makes me ovulate anywhere from CD15 to CD19 which is MUCH better!

I could never have imagined TTC for so long when I started. I kept thinking "this month surely" and was working out the statistics for me getting pregnant each time. Stats don't work. Once again - hopefully this month!

I dont know how you are coping with it all.ty so much for all the info. You really are a super trouper! Is opk and ultrasound and bbt the way doctors check to see when or if your ovulating?

Hi. I've been TTC with my husband for nearly 3 years. The problem seems to be due to one ovary, fallopian tube and my uterus being stuck firmly to my bowel. I think as well as only having one clear fallopian tube, my uterus can't move properly. This affect my lining (which became very thick and heavy) and also affects the 'flow' within the whole system. I only found this stuff out after investigations in November. There will be a follow up next week. I'll find out if they can operate to free everything up so it can work properly. I'm 35 now and sometimes feeling that there's no real hope.

5 years TTC. Endometriosis and adenomyosis. Surgery. 2 IVFs. No joy. Low ovarian reserve. Is there any real hope? DE IVF = next step. Much higher success rates, but so used to things not working, it's hard to feel too hopeful. Wishing others an easier time.

over 2 yrs for me too. but we have a sperm issue :-/

keiralei, I know some drs will make u chart that kinda stuff to help show them if/when u ovulate. ultrasounds to see if ur eggs r growing

shelob, the ivf aint so bad. it was after the transfer I had issues with. I had to take estrogen and progesterone shots. both were horrible. after week 5 of those shots i was crying bloody murder. lol. but if u can get the patches and/or suppositories, i think u'll be fine. i didn't have insurance so i was paying cash for everything and the shots r cheaper. even the shots b4 the retrieval aren't so bad. those i took like a champ. ha.

keiralei the way they check for ovulation with me is blood tests and occasionally an ultrasound too. Estradiol levels at CD12 give a good indication of follicle production and then progesterone at CD21 tells them if I ovulated any time before then. They will only do an ultrasound if my estradiol indicates I might be overstimulating and producing too many eggs. I personally monitor myself with BBT and use OPKs too. I really like to know when I am about to ovulate and when I have!

Mammoth your issues sound like what they described at my specialists as "adhesions". I am nosrry you are struggling with that :( Good thing they did the tests to find it though! They told me about the test they would do for that recently but I won't have that until after we have been trying other things for a little while as it is very invasive - surgery which would then require me to take a week off work.

Kitten1386 thanks for that reassurance about IVF. I am scared about the injections as I am not sure I could do it to myself, and my husband is not all that confident about medical things either. We would cope I suppose, it is the the anticipation that is horrible! I also worry about the time taken off work because it becomes very hard to explain to my nosy colleagues! I don't know what form they give the various drugs in. Fortunately I live in New Zealand and if you meet certain criteria then you will qualify for two rounds of free IVF. I will qualify after three more cycles on clomid. I have to pay for the clomid cycles myself but it is pittance compared to IVF! If it doesn't work after two rounds we would definitely start paying ourselves to continue trying. I have huge admiration for those who can adopt children. I am definitely not in an emotional space where I could do that so we will keep trying for our own as hard as we can!

Hi Mammoth and Kitten! I am more shocked now then when i found out i was pregnant! I still cannot understand how my babies survived the pill and i was smoking, drinking a lot and even had pot. I stopped it all atraight away and only occasionally now have a glass of wine. Miracles and fate happen for a reason.
I reallt feel for all of you. Your all very brave and strong and will be such great mothers. I pray it all works out for you all and i find out why i am having troubles too. I will keep you all updated. What cd are you all up too? xo

Ha. Day 37. Im still waiting for my 1st period after miscarriage. Ugh.

Thats awesome how medical works in new Zealand. I mean if u would need the ivf. I was also my man's guinea pig. He never given a shot b4 either. By the end he felt like a pro. Im sure he'll do fine. The nurses will go over on helping n answering all ur questions on giving them.

Keiralei, the good thing is uve had successful pregnancies, it could just b something minor like fibroids or polyps. They sometimes effect implantation. I was surprised I had some.

I am on CD19. I either ovulated on CD17 or today! I had a temp rise on CD18 but not hugely high and I only got my real positive OPK on CD18. Still had major ovulation cramps on CD18 too so really not sure. Just one of those months. We'll see what happens with my temps tomorrow!
