Test gradually get darker or straight to BFP?

Im curious as to weather when, those of you who have gotten BFP's, you took your HPT's, did they start out light and gradually get darker, or were they completely negative one day and unmistakably positive the next day?

Well I never took a hpt that came negative this month. I got a bfp but if it helps the line isn't getting much darker. I took one each day past three days. Hope that helps!
