Hi I am too a IUI. It is only my second try this month and my procedure was yesterday. I must say that I was insane the 1st time and yes peed on sticks nearly every day. The two week wait drove me mad so it was a relief when I got my results. The clinic I am at says I only have 2 try's at IUI and then it's IVF for me due to my age. So holding thumbs this time.

well we r now going on 15 months . i was put on femera only to regulate my period as i was already ovulating but my periods were all over this is my sec month on it hes got low sperm 7 mill..and we have to wait another 4 month before our doc will give us an iui ugh its gona go by sooo slow ...

My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years with doctor assistance since August 2011. I did 5 rounds of Clomid (hated the stuff, had the WORST hot flashes) all BFN's. I started my first all injectible cycle (Bravelle) on April 16th, had IUI on April 30th and am waiting to test tomorrow morning to see if I am pregnant. I am hopeful however, when you have seen so many BFN's it's hard to imagine ever seeing a positive test....

Welcom ladies!! Glad to have you gals to talk to:) Did my first IUI today! I was super nervous but it was pretty easy. I thought it might hurt but i felt nothing. So far....lol

aalistoun- I sooo get the poas addiction! I bought a bunch of internet cheapies and used one everyday starting at 9dpo, isn't that crazy!!? lol, couldn't help it. Did that for a few too many months and finally said, enough, it was too discouraging to see a BFN. So now I am proud to say that I have none in my house. I can't be trusted to wait lol. I had my first IUI a few hours ago and as silly as this sounds, I am sort of afraid to walk around. I know they say it's normal to spot and leak a bit but i can't help but think the sperm will get out lol. My doc says we can do this six times but after that IVF would be next. I'm worried about the costs though. How much is IVF going to cost you?

Hey ashieboo- why do you have to wait four months if you don't mind me asking? My husbands sperm count was fairly low and poor morphology (found this out after 14 months of trying, grrr) so I started researching and started forcing him to take a multivitamin, specifically for men, and low and behold it worked. He went for 3 SA's and each one was better than the one before. It says it takes around three months for sperm to mature and by the third month they were a lot better. His post wash for the IUI was 11 million and they say over 5 is accecptable and over 10 is pretty good. Is he taking anything to help boost his swimmers?

esully- I hated Clomid too!! I had a ton of migraines and had dizzy spells too and it just seemed to get worse the longer I was on it. With femara, I feel nothing so far and have managed to ovulate sooner than with Clomid so maybe it just wasn't for me. I really hope you are pregnant!! It will lift my spirits for sure and give me hope. I feel the same way, I can picture seeing a BFP in my head but have no clue how I will react. I know Ill cry my eyes out of intense happiness but will I believe it right away? Who knows, time will tell. Well, be sure to keep us updated!!

Hi Hopeful. Congrats on the IUI as I said I had mine on Monday. I am managing not to test yet as I m away from home on a course. A great distraction. But today I go back home and my partner I talking about nothing else at the moment so I suppose the obsession will start soon again. IVF I have been told s going to cost me about R40 000, not sure on your currency but that is about 4 000 Euro. How much is your IVF?

Hey aalistoun, have you tested yet? Hope all is going well. I'm not sure about IVF yet, i will ask my next round of IUI. I'm almost nervous to ask because I have heard it is around 8,000 over here. Eek, I hope that's not true. I sure hope this works for you. Have you felt anything different? Fingers crossed:)

No I have managed to control mysellf this month - but actually going mad today. I am very tempted to get a HPT and try but I know it's too early to test so I think I must hold on - one day at a time.
I see that you have symptoms of tender breasts - I don't this month at all. Not sure if that is good or bad sign I know last month at about 12dpo my breasts were VERY tender and swollen. So maybe this month it's a good sign who knows.

8 000 Euros that is VERY expensive - where are you based? I have been told that we have quite a few foreigners as it's cheaper in South Africa.

Sorry lol, I meant 8,000 dollars canadian, whereas IUI is only 200 dollars. Still a lot though I think. I agree with day by day, I don`t plan on testing at all. What`s the point? As soon as I see a bfn I get sad and feeling out and that doesnt help anyone. It would be lovely if this was the one but for the first time ever I`m actually not expecting it. So if it`s a no, I`m not going to be a crushed as I have been in the past. Of course I say that now lol

That is interesting your IVF is still more expensive. If I convert here IVF is 4 900 Dollars Candian. IUI is about the same. I read post that the average positive test is at 13.7 days so I agree what's the point. Also the doctor says test at 14dpo and he is the professional. Only 3 more days to go.
