Question

Do I need to discard todays temp

When trying to make dinner yesterday I had an upset stomach and was in and out of the bathroom until I took immodium. I slept find last night I woke up around 4 am to go to the bathroom and then went back to bed and got up around 6 am to take my temp and noticed it was very high and that I have a fever I have yet ovulated or gotten a pos opk yet. So I was wondering should I discard todays temp due to getting up two hours before I needed to get up to use the bathroom plus the fever or should I keep it? I only worry about this when it comes to calculating ovulation.

Discard it. Any time you have a fever you cannot count it as an accurate bbt. Hope you feel better soon!

Generally speaking, you shouldn't discard a temp. The individual temps don't really matter. Sites like this and Fertilityfriend won't count a high temp "against" you until you have 5 or more high temps after lower temps, which indicates ovulation. Most people don't discard temps in case it does factor into the pattern of it all. However, if it makes you feel comfortable- discard it. As I said, one single temp usually won't throw the pattern off.

If u took the temp on less than 3hrs solid sleep, like u did, then it is not a basal temp and u should discard it.
