My HPT lines never got very dark. My first one was so faint I could barely see it and thought I was seeing things. I took one the next morning with first morning urine. It was slightly darker, but not by much. Luckily I had taken a digital when I got my first BFP and it came back pregnant. So after that I quit worrying about how dark the lines were and made a doctor's appointment. Come to find out my hcg level was only 35. But it doubled and tripled and now I am 10 weeks 4 days pregnant. Since you got your BFP I would quit testing as it will only drive you crazy and make an appointment with your doctor for a blood test. Seeing those numbers double or triple is what is important. Congratulations!!!!!

Since it takes a couple of days for the pregnancy hormone the tests pick up to double you wont necessarily see a darker line less than 24 hours. It took a good 4 to 6 days for my really light positive tests to become a standard positive. I saw a gradual increase over those days but my hormones was actually trippling rather than just doubling.

I looked at your test and noticed that you are using the dip strips. Try a first response you should see the lines get darker. I never got a strong clear positive on the dip strips until about a week after missed peorid. but I got clear strong lines that got darker each day on the first response.

Thanks so much, ladies! While I did do the dip strip initially, I took a FRER last night with my husband. It was the second FRER I took this morning that was lighter. Because if our last loss (8.5 weeks), my doctor agreed to do a blood test...even they said it was to make me feel better. I spoke to them before reading these answers and they had said just what you did, AYEAYECAPTN. :)
