So confused 17dpo still no AF yet and waiting to start Clomid, bfn on hcg but positive on ov strip???

AF due tom/Fri, doesnt look good again this month, spoke to dr on phone(I didnt warrant an appt) and basically said at my age (45) not much they can do and be lucky for kids ive got, I was upset as I do appreciate them everyday but they are 19/20 and would like a baby with this partner of 5 yrs :(

New here but guess 45yrs is too old to conceive :( any ideas what I can try to help? Getting lots of symptoms, swollen painful boobs, off my wonderful cuppa and burping like a trooper but still neg result, might ask doc if anything I can try if he will take me seriously?
