Hi, Ladies! I'm CD12...and woke to a nice yeast infection!! I think I caught it in time though. I always treat them holistically though. I feel like it's safer while TTC. I do organic cotton tampons with olive oil and 3-4 drops of tea tree oil on them...you wear them at night for three nights. I also buy the homeopathic external vaginal cream for external redness/itching. So, no BD for us until Christmas Eve! My fertile window is this week. FX anyways even with the infection issue...I should O CD17 or so...

FX and baby dust, everyone!! <3

Sugar - the OPK does not confirm O, just monitors the hormone surge that typically precedes O. Blood work and ultrasounds are the only foolproof way to know if you O. Although temps tend to help, you can be anovulary but still have a temp pattern that suggests O (which I found out from my RE).

Anyway, one of a few things could have happened:

1. Your body may have geared to O and the hormone surge occurred, but then you got sick, so you didn't O. Now that you are on the mend, your body is trying to O again, thus a second surge.

2. Those clearblue digital OPKs actually keep track of your previous hormone levels, and they are detecting a surge on your actual levels. Depending on when you started using them, you could have had an increase in LH enough to trigger the smile face but not enough to O. The dipstick OPKs are just looking for a certain level of LH, which may or may not be your body's level needed to O, so even if the line is darker than the control line, your body may not have Oed yet.

3. Your hormones could be unbalanced for whatever reason, and thus the fluctuation. This could be as simple as your illness causing this, or it could be some other factor(s).

Hope this helps. Good luck and hope you caught the egg!

ready4babies - sorry about AF, but way to look forward and be positive!

blushing - we did! i think we did better at keeping it more fun and focused on us this month than last month. *phew*

myluckyduck - hope that infection is gone in time this month! never heard of those natural treatments, have you used them before? do they work better than the OTC antifungals like monistat??

2more - it's always on my brain!! i get some relief when i'm working since i'm so busy. but any time i'm home my brain is a ticking! i think i need a hobby, but i'm kinda boring and not sure what to look at. i enjoy reading, but can only do a couple hours a day.

sugar - oh my! how confusing! i think your doc was maybe right thinking the other opk+ was off and i bet they'd say that this one is a true one? O will happen in the next 12-36 hours i believe, and the egg live 12-24 hours, so if you BD when you get home you'd still have a shot. genie82 also mentions thoughts i had. try to enjoy your family the rest of today and then tackle this tomorrow.

afm, being lazy today. grocery store later to make dessert for a family gathering tomorrow. trying to keep myself occupied so i don't go nuts during TWW. happy holidays everyone!
