Update on my BFP - Ended in Chemical Pregnancy

For those of you who have been following my TTC journey…Unfortunately my BFP turned into a heavy bleed…resulting that that dreaded chemical pregnancy. This is my 2nd chemical pregnancy in 7 months. To say that I am devastated seems like an understatement. I cannot express how sad this makes me. You think that because you know this can happen and you somewhat guard yourself from getting too excited – it will ease the pain of it all…for me…I feel the pain of this loss even more so than the first time. It’s hard to even want to try again to be honest. I will give myself some time and heal. I am nowhere near emotionally ready to try again at the moment.

I am keeping my doctors apt and going to see if they have any ideas on how to sustain a pregnancy. It seems conceiving isn’t an issue for me – it’s sustaining it. I have read progesterone helps sustaining pregnancy. I will have to talk to my doctor about taking that. Typically doctors here in Canada will not look into things until you’ve been TTC for 1 year. We’ve been TTC for 7 months thus far… We will see.

I feel like I am floating around in the universe with no real direction. I am so numb and scared this feeling won’t go away. Each day is a feat to get out of bed. I am broken hearted.

If anyone has some TTC success stories after a loss (or more) I’d love to hear them.

XO

So sad to hear this, take time to grieve..a loss is a loss regardless of how far. And miracles can and do happen.. 2 losses and 2 chemicals, 41 and a natural conception. I was put on aspirin this time, no idea if that's what made this 1 stick but worth considering and also progesterone testing..

This must be so heartbreaking for you and your DH. Don't give up hope though as you definitely have age on your side. I had a miscarriage Oct 2015 and then didn't get pregnant again until Aug 2016 which ended as a chemical. I managed to conceive naturally end of September 2016 and I was 42. I was only taking folic acid. Only thing I did different in September was not temp or use opks but BD everyday from CD9 - CD 15.
Wishing you baby dust and life's richest blessings xx

Are u taking any vitamins or supplements to help the process? Progesterone can help, if u have a deficiency, but it won't sustain a pregnancy that isn't viable. Sometimes (most of the time) early losses like this are due to something being wrong with the egg itself. The body's natural reaction is to abort if something is wrong with the pregnancy. Obviously this isn't always the case, but majority of the time, something went wrong with the egg. It's usually a screw up in the cell division. U can look into taking some supplements to help boost egg quality until u can find a doctor to look into this further. I'm in Canada as well, and even after a year, it's like pulling teeth to have testing done. They tend to brush off chemicals and advise u not to test til af is late.

Take some time to heal, emotionally, then try again. It can't rain all the time, ur rainbow is coming...I promise!
Chin up!! =))
