Nervous should I take HPT or wait?

My last period started Jan 30th, It is now March 5th and I have not seen my period. The only time I had intercourse was on Feb 21st. During the week of Feb 24th I was having PMS like symptoms and felt very emotional. I'm nervous about taking a HPT is it possible I could be prego or should I give it more time to see if my period comes? I also have been getting heart burn a lot more then usual these pass few weeks not sure if that's a sign.
