Question

Ovulation tests

Hi, if you are using opk tests should an LH surge only happen once in the month and can you ever get a false positive result?

An LH surge is only suppose to happen once a month, however, an LH surge doesn't mean you've ovulated. It means your body is gearing up to ovulate. Some women gear up to ovulate, but never actually ovulate. So, it could be possible that you have a second surge in a cycle, it means your body is "trying" to ovulate, again.

Your body can gear up to O but not O and then later in the month you can ovulate giving you a second + on opk. Also some woman will get a + opk close to AF due to the rise in estrogen and of course pregnancy can cause a + opk also.
