Question

What is a short luteal phase? Why is it bad?

my luteal phase is ussually 11 days, but on one occasion (out of 7 recorded) it was 9 days.
What is classed as a short luteal phase and why is a short luteal phase bad?

A short LP is anything under 10days, though ideally I think the docs like to see 12 or better. Mine is 10 and hasn't been a problem.
The LP is the time the corpus luteum (sp?) produces progesterone to prevent shedding of the uterine lining until the embryo implants and has a chance to hormonally signal the body of pregnancy. If your LP is too short it will result in chemical pregnancy.
