Posting because I was doing it wrong. I was dipping for 15-20 seconds because I forgot it was supposed to only be 5 seconds. Dipping for longer oversaturates the test and you won't get progression past a certain point.

Top taken at 5am, bottom taken at 1pm.
Not a lot of water up until then, but glad to see the darker line on the free and something past 1-2!

My long surge.
It was definitely positive when I randomly decided to test on CD22, so I'm not sure when it started, but I kept testing until it went to definite lighter test line.
