can OPK get a little dark and then fade without ovulating?

Hi!
We have been TTC for a few months now so I used a lot of OPK strips.
When I first stopped the pill my cycles were awfully long (60+ days) and I dit not ovulate.

The last two cycles I saw a very clear LH surge (but still late as my cycles were 50 and 40 days long) lasting more than 12 hours, with a very dark line on the strip. This time I tested at day 14, and the line was getting darker. On day 15 it was ALMOST as dark as the control line. And then yesterday on day 16, I was expexting a full positive surge and the line was back to very pale.

Did some of you experience that? What do you think? Can it be because my urine was too concentrated once and my surge is stil' upcoming?

I guess I'll find out if I truly ovulated in two weeks if AF comes (or even better with a BFP! Still hoping :P)
