5 Mil on SA, told IVF was only option, +test this morning!

I just wanted to give a little hope to those who may be in the same situation I was. My Husband had a Vasectomy Reversal in July of 2014, and we've been avidly trying to conceive since then. After months of trying, with no success, we did a SA in early April. The analysis came back, with everything really good, except the count, he only had 5 million swimmers. We went and seen a Fertility specialist on the 24th, and he basically crushed us. he told us it was impossible for us to conceive on our own, and nearly impossible with IUI, and other such methods, and said IVF was our only hope. We were willing to do anything to have another baby, but the thought of how long it would take us to save the money for IVF was devastating, I mean who has that much money laying around, not us, and would that even work. Well, today I am 11DPO, and got 3 positive tests, 2 at home one at my doctors. I did blood work that I should get back, in a few days, but I'm pretty hopeful. The only other time I got a positive on a pregnancy test, was when I was pregnant with my son, who is now 7 years old. I didn't expect to be pregnant, especially after what the fertility specialist said, but I took a test anyway, because that's what I've been doing for months, I'm super impatient, and it's just became a part of my monthly routine. I think the specialist we saw was just in it for the money, even though I know our chances were so slim, he just wanted to push the IVF to get the big bucks, or least thats how he made us fell. It just goes to show, that nothing is impossible. I'm really hopeful, and I hope that my experience can give anyone else in a similar situation some hope, that miracles do happen. I have never been the type that got lucky, the odds are never on my side, but it appears to have happened for us, and it can happen for you too!

I honestly believe some doctors make everything the worst case scenario... not sure if they are money hungry or what. 5 million swimmers sounds a lot better than others I have read about. It only takes 1 to reach the egg. Congratulations on your BFP!! Hang in there little bean! Good Luck and a Happy Healthy 9 months!

Thank you for your encouraging words! I took 2 more tests yesterday, both positive. So I know I'm pregnant, but I'm scared since I'm not supposed to start my period until tomorrow, that it might end up being a chemical pregnancy. I have no real reason to worry about such things, but I cant help but feel, it's too good to be true. The chances of us getting pregnant on our own, are roughly 1%, it really has been a beautiful unexpected surprise, I just hope it all works out, and that the odds stay on our side.
