Why would I kind of bleed in between periods?

I was at work and felt like I had started my period, but it was just a bit of pinkish blood. Now that I am off, this is what I just got. It has been 2 weeks since my last period ended and I am not scheduled to start until the 17th.

It could be implantation bleeding or from ovulation.
