spotting..?

I am 12 dpo, yesterday i had what i thought was the beginning of my period. I wiped my self (sorry TMI) and there was little specks of brownish/ red spots. I kept on wiping to see if there was more and only tiny little specks would appear....to be honest i had to squint a few times to make sure it was red/brown. My period is not due for another 2 days so i am not sure of what that was? This morning nothing shows up when i wipe, but i do have lotion-like cm. Please help. I've had other symptoms, but im trying to just leave it as AF symptoms to not get all crazy.
