Question

Nothing seen on scan?

I had spotting for 5 days which has since stopped for 6 days. I had a scan today at 4+6 and they couldn't see anything. My HCG is 1136.

They said there are 3 outcomes:
1) ectopic
2) an early loss
3) it's just too early to see anything.

Anyone had a similar HCG or experience?

i would say 4 weeks is too early to see anything, normally its around 6 weeks that you start seeing something but that be said you should see something when your levels are over 1000. Which is confusing in your case as your levels are very high for only 4 weeks. Could you be further along?

No I had IUI so I know exactly when I conceived. I'm exactly 4+6 today.

I don't know much about about fertility treatment, is there any chance it could be twins? That "might" account for the high hcg level but at 4 weeks 6 days I really wouldn't worry about not seeing anything on a scan, it's not uncommon to see nothing at even 5 weeks. 6 weeks is when you should see something. Good luck x
