Any Advice Please!!!!!!! Confusion With OPKs
Ok ladies,
I am 31 and my DF is 45 and we have been actively trying for 5 months now. I just started using opks this cycle but I am not sure when to BD. Is it after a positive test or start when it is almost positive? Because of his work, we only BD 3 maybe 4 times a week. I feel like I will never become pregnant this route :(
Thank you all for your responses

it is suggested that you BD in the five days leading up to ovulation. I never know when I am going to ovulate so I always make sure to BD once I get a positive OPK, because ovulation could happen within 12 to 48 hours after a positive opk. everyone is different... but it can take up to 12 hours for the sperm to reach the fallopian tubes. just know that if you get a positive opk, start BD'ing :) and as long as you are BD'ing every other day leading up to that positive opk girl you are good !!! don't stress, have fun..

@msmomma I suggest also buying a BBT thermometer and tracking your temps next cycle if you do not conceive during this one. I used opks for the first 2 months and it really helped me to understand ovulation and when to do the deed. BD 5 days leading up to ovulation and a few days after (as the egg lives 24-48 hours after Oing) If you cant BD every day, try to BD every other day during your fertile times. Along with suggesting you purchase a BBT thermometer (I got mine for like $12 at walmart) you should also do some research on cirvical fluid or cervical mucus (CM) as the changes in your cervical mucus can easily tell you when you're about to ovulate, when you ovulated and if you've already ovulated. Feel free to message me and ask any questions you may have about these things. And to put you at ease, hopefully, 80% of people conceive after 6 months of trying - only 60% get pregnant within the first 3 months of ttcing! Good luck to you!

woops - yes, good point - definitely sperm friendly lube! also, i meant to say, opks are great and all but the problem with them is they only tell you WHEN you ovulate, they dont warn you about the days prior (when you should really be BDing and saving up those sperms!) BBT charting can help you figure all that out!

@ aecmaine207 thanks for all the info. I do need to research on bbt thermometer. I tried to check my predisposition and I was so confused on what exactly I was feeling lol. Oh and I never used lube before. I get extremely wet during the deed. Lots of hot foreplay: ) This ttc journey is starting to consume me where DF tells me "It will happen when it should, don't worry bout tracking". Please he don't GET IT ugghhhh
