Folic acid causing bleeding?

Has anyone heard of or experienced mid cycle bleeding as a result of taking 5mg folic acid?
I've been bleeding since ovulation, 11 days so far and was wondering if it's due to changing brand of folic acid. I only have this suspicion as yesterday I forgot to take and by eve it had almost stopped I took my missed pill and within an hour it had got heavier again.
