Question

Why are hpt results should not be considered after 8 minutes?

I took a hpt and couldn't see except some Evap lines. A couple of hours later it found it positive with a visible line (not dark but not faint) should I consider it?

No - as the tests dry the dye tends to pool and cause lines. A test that showed a line after ten minutes and not before is definitely not a positive result.
