I've read conflicting things about the best time to plan BD'ing during ovulation.
I've read it's best to BD before you ovulate and get a positive opk. An article said by the time you ovulate it's too late. But then I read the egg is released AFTER the LH surge, and to BD 3 days after. I'm so confused! Last month the hubby and I BD only on my ovulation day and the next day. HPT neg. So this month we're trying days before and after I guess? I would love to hear some opinions on the topic. Thanks in advance!

U want to bd in the days leading up to O, then when u get ur surge, dance another 3 or so days. The reasons behind this is that from the day u detect the surge to the day the egg actually releases, could be 12hrs for one woman and 72hrs or more, for another. Ok, so say u bd on Monday then get ur surge Tuesday but don't bother bd'ing anymore becuz u bd'd the day before ur surge. Then u end up O'ing on the later end of things, 3 days later, now it's Friday...and u haven't had sex since Monday. Sperm can live for up to 5 days, but this is in ideal conditions, the likelihood of there being many left to fertilize an egg, is slim. If u bd'd on surge day and for the 3 days later, u'd have a plethora of them up there ready to catch the egg. Also, if a second egg is released, that'll happen within 24hrs of the first. Bd'ing after suspected O covers ur bases for that (potential) egg, as well.
Hopefully this is helps ya make sense of it all.
Good luck! =))

All I know is that I noticed some EWCM and then the next 12-24 hours I had sex and ended up pregnant. I even took plan b 12 hours later but it didn't work cause I guess it doesn't work when you ovulate. I know ever woman is different but id say if you see ewcm during ovulation week, then DTD soon after if TTC
