Question

Are my HCG levels normal?

Hi all,
I've just had two blood tests done 48 hours apart to test my HCG levels. After confirming pregnancy, the nurse told me that the first test's HCG level came back at 53 (at 3w, 6d). And that the second test (done 48 hours later, at 4w, 1d) came back at 96. I was under the impression that these numbers were within a normal range and it's good that they almost doubled within that time frame. However, the nurse told me that the numbers "aren't good, but they aren't bad either." And that they "can't tell if it's a viable pregnancy or not at this point." She went on to tell me that I should be taking it really easy right now and to watch out for bleeding and cramping. I told her it sounded like I might need to be worried and she said "it would be weird if you weren't worried." Please help! I thought my numbers were normal, but the nurse I spoke to made me feel like this pregnancy is barely hanging by a thread. I have a 1 year old and nobody ever said any

Wow, what a horrible thing for her to say. Ur levels are well within the normal range for 4 and 5wks. Most doctors like to see u in the 50-100 range by 14dpo. I wouldn't pay attention to what she says, she's the nurse, not the Dr!
Congrats! =))

They look great to me. With my first my hcg at 4 weeks was 81 and he is a healthy 3 year old. Don't stress about it, your numbers look good to me. And congratulations!!
