Breastfeeding while pregnant
Just trying to get some input and this is the only place I know of. I'm still nursing my 16 month old and want to continue thru (possible) pregnancy. I emailed my local La Leche League and they gave conflicting info stating that most moms that have been breastfeeding for over a year can continue to nurse all the way til baby is born with no issues but then I got told that a lot of moms lose milk around the 4th or 5th month. I also have always had a good supply of milk, never had low supply issues. So how many moms that have nursed for over a year have been able to continue to nurse all the way thru pregnancy with no issues? Also if you have nursed for over a year and then lost milk supply when pregnant, what month of pregnancy did you lose it?

Hi, I am planning to do the same. Trying to conceive baby #2 and still nursing my 19month old...a lot I would say :)) he still loves it and so do I.
My opinion is that you should do how you feel its best for you and your babies, having this said nursing when over 37 weeks can cause uterine contractions and some midwifes might advise to stop nursing. You never know how your first one will behave in the next 9 months, he/she might wean off during the pregnancy just because hes grown up. :) Or perhaps it becomes to uncomfortable for you at some stage ...just take it step by step
Not sure how much this helps, but I think we can do anything we want as long as we have our babies interest in mind :)
