Question

When should I test?

Hello all, I do not have regular 28 day cycles, as a matter of fact my cycles range from 35 to 40 days long. Give or take. I kept watching for CM this cycle for the first time ever and yes indeed I can see the different types of discharge throughout my cycle now that I am TTC. On CD36 I took an HPT and it came back negative. However I never saw the egg white stretchy CM that is associated with ovulation. So I just assumed I didn't ovulate. On CD 42 I saw milky white discharge, and on CD43 I saw stretchy egg white like CM. Is it possible that I ovulated this late in my cycle? Should I take a test now?

I'd say it's possible your body tried to ovulate on CD43 when you had EWCM. If you did ovulate on CD43 you should expect your period around CD58. If you don't have a positive or period by CD60 I'd suggest calling your doctor and telling him/her. Often doctors will prescribe Provera, or a similar drug, to "jump start" your period and therefor your next cycle so you can move on with TTC.

Best of luck!
