False positive??

Yesterday I got a pretty obvious positive pregnancy test. It was on FRER, it was not an indent definetly a pink line. I went into get a blood test done today and my doctor called to tell me I did not have HCG in my body. I was shocked! How could that be when I had a positive pregnancy test yesterday?!?! I did start bleeding today but it is light and more mucus then anything. My cervix is still closed. Basically my dr told me that I had a false positive!? Not sure what to think about all this. Has this happened to anyone ? Should I believe the blood test over the at home pregnancy test?
