It's a frustrating process, that's for sure. Arm urself with as much knowledge as u can. Chart ur temps (bbt) every morning, that will confirm an ovulation date for u, use opks only until u have ur 1st positive, watch ur cervical mucus for fertility then loss of that fertility (it can help pinpoint O if ur chart is finicky) and if ur really bored, learn how to check ur cervix...it can also help pinpoint ur fertile window. Definitely don't worry too much about how long opk's are positive for tho, anything involving urine can be altered easily.

It's possible ur not ovulating, but the length of the surge has no bearing on whether or not an egg releases. I temp, so I always know when/if I have O'd, one cycle I had 8 days of positive opk's but O'd on the evening of the first one.
Sometimes if the egg doesn't release, ur body will send out another surge shortly after. These surges can seem like one long one...it's hard to say for sure if it's one or two tho. I would def look into bbt and start asap. It won't help u right now cuz u don't have baseline temps to work with, but come next cycle, u won't need to continue testing or worry about why u have so many positives.
