38 is on the low side but still within the normal range. My RE liked to see numbers above 50 for the first beta after transfer. But she said even with lower numbers your chances are still 50/50 it might be a viable pregnancy. Don't give up hope unless the betas decrease! I have hpt images on my page from both my viable pregnancy and chemical/early miscarriages from ivf rounds if you are curious. It took me 6 rounds of ivf but finally brought home a baby!
