Positive hpt, negative blood test?

Hi
I tested positive on hpt. However, gynae did a blood test and I was told that I am not pregnant as hcg is less than 2.

I have read that protein and blood in urine can cause positive hpt. Any way to avoid a false positive?

My boy is about 9 months and no period yet as still breastfeeding. Has anyone encountered this before? Am I confirmed not pregnant? Or could blood test be wrong?
