Question

Trying for #2! 13.5 yrs after DS. Possible fertility issues. 1st cycle BBT charting with confusion!

Hi-

I used this site when I first started TTC in 2012. I was so naïve in thinking I could take an OPK one time and BAM I'd be pregnant. That wasn't the case. My husband and I took a few breaks between the end of 2012 and 2015. We decided earlier this year to try maximizing our chances for baby #2 (his 1st). I'm 37-hubby is 42- so this may not even happen. I had a laparoscopic myomectomy in 4/2014 due to a 12 cm fibroid, which was inside my uterus. I know that I have been ov as I have tracked my CM and OPK (CB digital advanced). All 3 months I've gotten the solid smilie (and ov pain). AF showed up at 11pm on CD 29 (June 25). My main fear is if the egg does get fertilized, it would have nowhere to implant due to possible scar tissue on my uterus? This cycle I wanted to chart BBT, but didn't start till CD 3. I have a 3-4 day period, 28-29 day cycle. My temps on CD 3, 4, & 5 have been 97.5 each day - is it strange to have such consistent temps? Thank you! Very new to this.

It's good that you have consistent temps. Most people don't due to variables when temp charting. That will make it much easier to notice changes.

As far as your fibroid removal goes, are you for sure that you had scar tissue? If so there are some herbal tampons that work pretty well for removing scar tissue. Also, it's actually more common for the scar tissue to cause recurrent miscarriage than it is for it to prevent implantation because scar tissue is soft so it's easy for an egg to implant into it, but it won't be able to stay because as the embryo grows the scar tissue doesn't accommodate to the growth like your uterine lining does. My mom has Asherman's syndrome (scar tissue in the uterus) and she had 9 miscarriages between having me and my little sister. Not trying to scare you by any means, just trying to reassure you that the scar tissue doesn't really sound like the issue at this point.

Considering the age of your husband, have you thought about testosterone issues?

Jennamp17419- Thank you for responding to my question and for the feedback. I appreciate it! I really don't know for sure about scar tissue, I guess I am just more afraid that I might have it. My husband has an appointment scheduled for this month. I'm hoping he'll be able to cancel it because we bd quite a bit when I had some nice dark lines on my ov tests this cycle, more than usual. We've decided to keep trying until the end of the year at least.

Thanks again!
