My doctor's office uses the same tests that you can buy at the dollar tree so I would say those do work...However, there have been many articles on the subject of false negative pregnancy test results. HCG in some women can't be detected for a little while, some rare cases report a couple months into the pregnancy still getting a negative. So the best thing to do, although we hate to hear it, is wait a week and take another test. If that is negative and you still haven't started, a blood test or ultrasound from your doctor will let you know what's going on... Best of luck!
