I had a mirena for 2 1/2 years, and then had it removed in December of last year. I was put on a birth control pill immediately after I had it removed. I was in the middle of my second pack (and I was terrible with taking them at the same time every night...and some nights I would miss) but stopped by the middle of the second. I would suggest maybe doing every other day, and then one here and there to prevent a sudden shock to your system but also decrease the effectiveness of them. See how your body reacts, then stop them completely.
