Question

On birth control, light spotting, nausea and other weird symptoms :( am i pregnant?

Alright, so im rather young, and not ready to be pregnant. On April 8th my SO and I had sexual intercourse without a condom and he ejaculated inside of me (I know, if im not ready I shouldnt be this risky). However I am on the pill and I have been for three months now. About 5-6 days after this, I got this weird brownish discharge. Im only on month three of birth control so this is quite normal, but personally i've never experienced this before. After this I began getting nausea, breast tenderness and slight cramping. I've had this before in previous months using bc, but this worried me. On the 20th I tested (this was around 13dpo estimated) and it came back negative. Today, I took another and it said negative. AF should be here soon and im feeling normal period cramps and after I took the test I got brown discharge like at the begining of my period. I suffer from severe anxiety, so I would just like some reassurance from others that im not pregnant :(

Even if you ovulated 4 days after when you had unprotected sex you'd still be 12DPO today. A negative test on 12DPO would be fairly definitive. And if you ovulated later than 4 days after unprotected sex the chances of any sperm still being around to fertilize an egg, while theoretically possible, would be so very low. The odds are very much in your favor that you are NOT pregnant. Especially since you're on birth control.

I understand what it is like to be young, unprepared for pregnancy and worried about the possibility of a pregnancy. I remember being in your situation. But rest assured that the most likely scenario here is that you're not pregnant. If you period is late you should probably test again. But in the meantime try not to worry.

I don't think you are pregnant based on all that you have mentioned. For more peace of mind in future and to protect yourself from STD's use a condom also. Then even if you miss any birth control tablets you won't have to worry about pregnancy or std's. Take care and I do hope you get the result you desire. Take care!
