chloasma or melasma anyone?
For those who don't know what it is, it's a discoloration of the skin.
"Melasma occurs much more often in women than in men, and usually is associated with hormonal changes. That is why the dark patches develop often during pregnancy."
So I had my first daughter 6 years ago and when I was about 6 weeks pregnant I noticed dark patchy skin on the back of my neck, and it wasn't there before. I only noticed it because my husband pointed it out to me. Well now we're trying for baby #2 and this is the first month where I noticed that I have that patchy skin in the exact same spot as I did the first time around.
Now, I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence. I'm not even sure what causes this to happen but I do know that it runs in my family and it's always during pregnancy. Has this happened to anybody else?
