Question

LMP and DPO have me confused on my gestational age!! Help...

So going by my LMP, I should be 6.5 weeks pregnant. I have an average of 33/34 day cycle and I ovulate later in my cycle (around day 16-18) Went to ER last night bc I had some pink tinged discharge. They did hcg levels and sono. My HCG was 4000. If I go by my DPO, then 4000 hcg is normal for 5 weeks. If I go by LMP its low. The sono showed a sac in my uterus but could not see any fetal pole or yolk sac. I know I have to take into consideration that these ER docs arent well educated in reading/taking sono pics. Any experience this? No cramping and no more spotting. Just nervous!!!

Yeah, if you have a long or short follicular phase then your lmp is inaccurate. At your first scan they will probably recalculate it as being 14 days before you conceived even though you didn't start your cycle that day because they go by the average day for lmp prior to ovulation. Seems silly to me, why not just calculate it from o day? Oh well! Congratulations on your pregnancy, have a healthy and happy 9 months.
