Question

Chemical pregnancy - when will I start to bleed?

Hi everyone - I got my first positive tests(with FRER and Clearblue digitial - that beautiful "pregnant") 7 days ago. I tested with FMU each day, and the second day after I got my positives, they got comfortingly darker. However they never progressed in darkness thereafter. Yesterday it was decidedly lighter and today just barely there -almost back to negative. I knew this pregnancy was different for 3 reasons - the lack of progression(with my 6 year old and 2 year old, I had beautiful progression), the lack of symptoms other than exhaustion(I always have over-active nose and sore boobs), and the cramping and sharp pains I've had for the last few days, which seem to be more than just regular baby-digging-in cramps. With the test being just about negative now, I'm sure it's a chem. :( When will I start bleeding? Advice? I don't believe it's an ectopic, because I'm not in terrible pain, but I'll be vigilant anyway. Help appreciated! (I'm 16 DPO)

My advice would be to go to the doctors, if you've definitely had more than one positive hpt, go and get bloods done to confirm. Its best to be under medical care at times like this. It sounds like you have symptoms of a threatened miscarriage. I'm so sorry if that's the case. If it is a miscarriage as suspected you should probably start bleeding in the next day or two. It will seem like the onset of a normal period but be slightly heavier than what you are used to. tc x

Yes, I have had positives every day for a week, taken every day with the same tests at the same time with FMU. Clear positives with good color lines that have gradually been getting lighter over the past few days. :( I called in and they are not interested in my coming in or seeing me until there is no hint of a positive line on a test or am bleeding. :/ I would suspect my test will be 100% negative by tomorrow since it was halfway yesterday and most of the way today. This waiting is not for the faint of heart.

Well, doctor has comfirmed this to be a chemical pregnancy. :( It's been a week and a half since I first got my positive, and the tests are fully back to negative when I test. I have yet to shed a drop of blood, which I think is weird, but I'm sure it's soon to follow. I'll update when that happens in case anyone else in a similar situation wants to use this as reference. I was surprised how hard I've grieved this baby, and I feel like it will be the last closure when I finally bleed, so I am ready for that to just happen. Hubby and I named the baby, and that has helped tremendously to know we can always remember this baby by name.

OK, started bleeding just minutes ago, so bleeding on the day of the first stark white negative.
