Conceiving while Breastfeeding..?
Hi yall! I am currently nursing my 13month old daughter. She has been exclusively bf since birth, so this is a hard step for us both. Currently, I am mostly only bf her in the morning and nursing her to sleep unless she is super fussy or doesn't feel good. I had her weaned from night feedings until a few nights ago. She has been waking 2-3 time to nurse (she is cutting two more teeth). My husband and I are wanting to try to conceive again... My question is do I need to wean her completely before conceiving? How many of you have conceived while bf? Do I need to wean if/when I get pregnant? Wanting opinions and stories, please. (:
Additionally: My last two cycles have been 34 days. The cycles before were 44. My cycles returned when she was about 9/10months old.
I have my annual exam in a few weeks and plan to discuss this topic with my OB just wanted to here from yall til then! Thanks in advance!! (:

My best friend is currently pregnant with #2, and is due when #1 will be 13 months. She was still exclusively breastfeeding/pumping when she go pregnant (had not even had her first af since after she gave birth, but clearly they caught the first time she ovulated!) She was still breast feeding up until about a month ago (she was 14 weeks when she stopped) because her supply REALLY dropped off. The doctor also said at some point her body was going to need the energy it was using to breastfeed to nourish the new baby, so suggested she stop. She did plan ahead though and pumped A LOT of extra so she hasn't had to sub formula yet. Good luck!!

I got pregnant with #3 while breastfeeding #2 and never got a period at all, so the fact that you have gotten them gives you an even better chance. Try using OPKs. I couldn't get pregnant with #4 (miscarriage) until I completely weaned #3 so I could actually get my fertility back
