Is it normal to have a period pink DC/period and on the last day of my cycle have a full period ?

My period was supposed to start on 9/8/2015 and so I thought it did I experience cramps and light pinkish dc when I wipe and this went on until today 9/12/2015 now my period is here when this would have been my last day on this cycle which is a five day cycle can anyone help explain to me what's going on?
