Question

Afraid of another loss

So after 5 months of ttc we finally got our BFP and we couldn't be happier but since my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage I am so scared of it happening again. I am 26 and will be 27 before I have my baby (If everything goes well) and I really want to be a mom already but I am so afraid I will have another miscarriage and I really don't wanna go thru that again. Is there any way I can get myself to think more positive and try not to stress myself out?

I've had multiple losses, as well as two full term births. Sadly, there's no magic trick to feeling secure in the pregnancy, then once the baby is born, it transfers to being terrified of something happening to your child. Once you've lived through the nightmare, the reality of "this really happens to people" can be so intense. I'm currently pg after a loss last year and some days, even some moments, can bring me to my knees in fear. In those times, I pray. I pray, of course, that the baby is safe and healthy, but also that unbelief will quit robbing me of the joy of this time. I can do all I can to be healthy myself and make a safe home for my baby to grow in, but I have to accept what is out of my control and trust that God's will for my life and children's lives will play out. That's my greatest comfort even though I know bad things can happen.

I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks when I was 26, I was devastated. I did not get pregnant again until I was 30. I was so afraid that I would miscarry a second time and worried constantly. I did not lose the pregnancy. I had a full term healthy baby boy with no issues. Many people miscarry and then go on to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy. I know that it is hard, but try to enjoy this amazing experience! A previous loss does not mean that you are not able to have a healthy pregnancy. You can do this. Congratulations!! I wish you luck and a healthy happy pregnancy. xx
