It looks like you had sex over your fertile period, so that's to your favor. Most tests will tell you that you'll get your most accurate results at 5 weeks pg, which amounts to about a week after your missed period. Many tests can detect hcg even before you miss you miss your period. I personally don't start testing any sooner than 9 dpo and have gotten bfp's at that stage. The downsides of early testing is the heartbreak of an early m/c should that be your experience, the cost, and the increased occurrence of false negatives. When you do start testing is up to, but it's rarer to see a definite bfp at 8 dpo and virtually impossible prior to 8 dpo.
