At 8 weeks the baby's are normally only 5 weeks or so, it would take about another week to see or hear the heart beat, and sometimes the baby's can be sniky and hide very well, give it a week and see what happens, try not to stress out because then the baby's will too, good luck, I know the early weeks are the hardest some times.

This happened to me as well and they considered it a miscarriage and I was scheduled for a d&c that same day. If your doctor hasn't called by now I would give them a call and see if they can give you answers on the ultra sound.
