Period after Provera
Hi all,
Does anyone have experience taking Provera to induce a period? I'm waiting to start injectables, and I didn't ovulate this cycle so my doctor put me on 7 days of Provera. I finished the last pill 6 days ago, have been very crampy since, but still no period. I've read it can take up to 14 days to get a period, but my doctor said it should come in 7 days or less. I'm panicking now since I'm on day 6. My bbt is still very high! Any advice would be great! Thanks!!

Provera can be taken at different doses and for different lengths of time. I have taken it for either 5 days or 10 days. Sometimes my period showed up within 2-3 days of stopping provera, sometimes it started while I was still taking provera especially when I took it for 10 days and sometimes it took over a week for my period to show. The longest it took for me was 11 days after stopping provera. It can vary a lot. But yes if it doesn't show after 2 weeks call the doctor.

Thanks so much for your response. I guess it's like everything else TTC related- there's a wide range of what's normal. Frustrating! Did you chart while taking it? My temps went up drastically, as I figured they would, immediately after the first dose- and they haven't gone down at all yet. I wonder if it has to drop first, or if your period can start while it is still elevated?
