Question

Did you not have O pains and still ovulate?

Hi All,

My husband and I are just starting TTC #2.

Each month, without fail, I feel mittelschmertz or O pains. So I always know when I am ovulating. I notice the increase CM as another tell tale sign.

This month is the first month for as long as I can remember that I did NOT feel any O pains whatsoever. I am concerned that I may have had an anovulatory cycle.

My question is...has anyone ever not had O pains when you usually do but still ovulated?

Thanks in advance. I feel like I want to know if I should just count this month out.

I almost never had O pains in the course of 3+ years of tracking and trying. My only signs were ewcm, positive OPKs and occasional ovulation spotting. In my experience, there are a lot of ladies that don't feel any pains. Don't worry if you don't feel anything. Best advice is just keep tracking and you'll find the same set of symptoms each month that will show you are getting ready to ovulate. Sometimes, you might just notice one or two.

I have O pains every cycle, it sucks. Last cycle I didnt feel O at all, or the after effects of it (horrid bloating, cant sit its so bad). I chart temps so I knew I did in fact ovulate, turns out I got a BFP that cycle too. I was so bummed out for not feeling O that I kinda just assumed it would be a crap cycle. BFP! It ended as a chemical but the point is, it happened when I wouldnt have known I O'd at all w/o temps and cm switching over. I wouldnt worry too much about it...def consider temping if u arent already, that'll eliminate any question of whether or not O happened.
Good luck! =))

Thank you both!
Dakotagurrl that definitely gives me hope!
I most certainly will start temping next cycle. The uncertainty is so annoying and I def. want to avoid it!
pbc910 that's a great idea...tracking symptoms. I never paid attention to those since the o pains were so obvious in the past!

In the meantime im going to drive myself crazy with uncertainty until af comes or a bf shows up. ha

Hopefully your BFP is around the corner but if not, figuring out what is "normal" for your body each cycle will really help. And don't be surprised or frustrated if you notice some symptoms certain months month and not others. But once you start paying attention to things you'll wonder why you never noticed them before! Good luck!
