Question

Bleeding at 6 wks

I am 6 weeks today and just had a "leak" and went to check it out. It was red blood. Don't seem to be actively bleeding but I am so worried and not sure whether to wait and see or go to the ER now. I have a severe yeast infection that the dr told me to just ride it out and can't treat til 12 weeks. I am hoping that the infection is causing the bleeding due to very inflamed cervix etc....? Opinions?

Definitely give your dr a call. Personally, I would only go to the ER if the bleeding was very heavy with cramping, pain, and/or a fever. Bleeding in early pregnancy is not always of concern but you should get it checked out. Getting a couple of HCG blood tests done or an ultrasound can be helpful. Best to you.

I agree. Bleeding isn't always an issue but better to be safe. Also suffering with an untreated yeast infection must be miserable. I've always been told to use the cream but to apply with fingers and not the applicator when pregnant even in the first trimester. Bright red bleeding tho is a good excuse to get this all sorted out. :)
