Recently put on Metformin for TTC baby #2 since Aug 2013. Period late and so confused!!

I have been TTC baby #2 since August 2013. I went to the doctor in January and she put me on metformin. I had a period 1/4/2015, 2/10/2015 and 3/10/2015. It should have been due again around 4/10/2015 and now its 4/17/2015. I had a little discharge yesterday with some blood in it but that's it. Then this morning, I wiped (tmi, sorry) and there was some light red blood on the paper but that's it. I haven't had anymore bleeding and its lunch time now. I am nervous to take a test because I have been disappointed so many times. Any advice??? I am so confused!
