Question

recurrent miscarriages and when to see the doctor

I have had 3 miscarriages. With the last 2 I jumped right in head first and made doctor appointments right away. It was so stressful waiting to find out what is going to happen.

Is anyone trying a different approach and NOT making your first appt immediately??? My last mc the doctor was so rude and insensitive and just all the way around awful! At 5 weeks he told me he had no idea why I was even there to begin with. At 6 he told me I will miscarry although my numbers were still in range. At 8 weeks was still no baby just a sack. At 10 weeks he told me there will never be a baby gave me pills told me to use him and don't come back and tell him I hadn't already bled it out. I was mortified!!! I bled for 2 months straight and didn't even want to go back to see if I was ok. This time I think I'm waiting for a couple months and taking my prenatals and baby asprin. If its going to happen it will right? I need assurance I could be doing the right thing by avoiding the stress.

I am so sorry about your experiences with your dr. Next time I would definitely see a different dr who will take your concerns and fears seriously. After 3 consecutive miscarriages you should get some testing done. If I were you and becoming pregnant again I would make an appointment early and talk to the (new) dr about the previous miscarriages and the baby aspirin regimen. With a high risk OB you will get much more attention and close monitoring from day 1 on. IMO it's all about finding the right dr. Stress levels tend to be lower with a dr you like and trust. Best wishes.

Thank you. I actually had a really good doctor who did my second d&c. She was in the same office but they would not make me an appt with her. Choices are pretty limited in my area. I do believe that doctor transferred to another place. I do have a 5 yr old son and that pregnancy went great. No issues at all. This doctor that transferred had run blood tests but never have me results refused to talk to me about them. He just acted so mad Cuz I wouldn't let him do a d&c at 6 wks! My second visit he collected 15 vials of blood. They should still have those on file right? I am currently 4 wks 5 days. I guess Monday I can call and question them. I am just really upset with the way I was taken care. The nurses seemed great but the doctor just completely had me all out of sorts!

Make sure to discuss the test results with the nice :) dr. Make that apptmt on Monday and don't be shy. Make them work for you. You are the (customer) patient, remember, you or your insurance is paying. Best wishes.
