Question

How long after stopping the BC PILL Will your cycle regulate?

Hello all. i'm very frustrated. i stopped taking the bc pill Jan 20 2015. Its now been 2 months and a half and i still haven't gotten a period. This has been such an emotional rollercoaster for me. I've been trying to conceive but haven't had a period to go by. My CM is thick, white and loitiony and has been like this for the past month if not longer.

Please help. is this normal? My nipples have been slightly aching but no symptoms of anything happening. When could i expect to go back to normal. Should i be worried?

I know this is not what you are looking for, but it is different for all women. I had period monthly right after birth control, but they were crazy for about 6 months. it really just depends. Have you called your doctor to ask? I know there is something they can do to bring on a period after a certain point. I think it is worth a phone call. hang in there.

I may not be much help either, but here goes. Every woman is different - I went off the pill just this cycle, and found that within days of ending my period, I was entering my fertile time based on CM and CP. It was crazy.

Every woman is completely different. When I went off the pill last year, (we TTC'd, then after a loss I went back on it), it took 3 months of no periods - I finally called into my ob's office and they sent in a script of progesterone to take to start my cycle back up.

I would encourage you to call your doctors office - make a visit (call it a preconception visit) and let them know you haven't had a period since coming off the pill and you're concerned. They will more than likely prescribe a medication called progesterone - you take 1 pill for a few days, and then about 2-3 days after the last pill, you will start a new cycle.

Best of luck!

I know that everyone's body is different but for me personally, I never got a normal "period". Before BC, I had a normal 28 day cycle every month and a heavy period for 3-4 days. I was on BC for 4 years. First, I had the Implanon for 3 years and then the pill for a year. We decided to go off the pill July 2014, we weren't really TTC but weren't preventing it either. While on BC I rarely had a period, maybe a day of spotting every few months. Well once I came off BC, that continued. A day or spotting every couple months, then Jan and Feb 2015 spotting occurred around the time of expected period. We got married Feb 28, 2015. I had my "day of spotting" Feb 23. So we still didn't think I was ovulating! Then, BAM honeymoon baby. Received a BFP on March 19th. So we conceived 8 months months after coming off BC, and I never had a "Normal Period"
