Hello ladies. I'm on Metformin now should I change to Clomid or a more aggressive plan? PCOS & E
My hubby and I have been trying for 4 1/2 years. I am on metformin now and tomorrow is my second fertility appointment and I was wondering if I should move on to clomid? My doctor suggested clomid the last appointment but I was scared of multiples. I would be okay with twins but more than that scares me... I was really sick on the metformin at first but luckily was changed to the slow release and now I feel better. I am losing weight on it though. I'm 5'7 127 so I don't want to lose anymore. Sorry I'm going on and on. Does anyone have any pros or cons on switching? Or even motivation? My one best friend just had a baby after a vasectomy so I know miracles happen! Haha

Hi :) I have PCOS also. Was on Metformin for a year with no luck. I just did my first round of Clomid this cycle. I will have my first Ultrasound on Thursday to check my follicles. So I cant answer if its worked yet!
But, with the Clomid you can get some nasty side effects. I took mine at night so I would hopefully sleep through them. The worst was bloating with extreme gas and emotional mood swings. I have evened out now so it was only 5 days of torture! I am still taking the metformin. My doc says she will keep me on the metformin all the way through my first trimester (when I do conceive) to reduce the risk of miscarriage.
Hope this helps some :) Sometimes with PCOS you still dont ovulate on your own with Metformin or you do its just random so the Clomid helps.
