17dpo with a BFP i've had some little pains on and off the day and brown spotting, is this normal??
So im about 17 dpo 4 weeks and a few days pregnant according to online calculations. I've been have small bits of pulling pains and small cramps on and off today. I went to the toilet mid day and notice some brown watery discharge and again the evening, if this a normal pregnancy symptom? is it to late to be implantation bleeding?

This sounds normal. Cramping/aching is definitely normal. I've heard from other people that they have bled or spotted for weeks at a time and everything has been fine.
If the cramps are bad or you're bleeding a lot it could be something to worry about.
If you're worried then its best to get checked out.
