As for when to start, I guess it depends how regular you are. My O has never been earlier than 19dpo, and is usually somewhere around CD23, therefore I start testing on approximately CD18. If you are regular and you have a cycle length of 'x' days, I would start testing on CD 'x-18'.
As for how frequent, I do something similar as essemkay: when a noticeable line start appearing (not super faint but faint still), I test twice a day.

Thank you ladies for your info, my cycles are pretty regular... 30 day cycles, I guess I'll be starting somewhere around cd14 , if I can wait that long haha... This is my 4cycle ttc... Hope this ovulation test and temping this month will make this my month of a BFP ???? how long have you ladies been trying?
